- We were commissioned to undertake the final phase of decommissioning/dismantling and demolition and associated works at the former world renowned ship yard.
- Works included but were not limited to ;
- Project Management for the works.
- Working with the client to achieve service disconnection in a timely manner.
- Full design dismantling of the former shipyard cranes requiring the deployment of 1200 t capacity crawler crane design dismantling of the cranes for loading onto barge transport for onward transport and subsequent re-erection overseas. Detailed project management was required to label and mark components for the client.
- Removal of asbestos materials both notifiable and non notifiable from buildings across the site.
- Demolition and dismantling of steel framed structures across the site. Identified structures were dismantled for subsequent re-erection and were scheduled coded and marked to facilitate this in association with the client.
- Specialist dismantling of overhead cranes for salvage and reuse ; previously unknown weights were calculated and equipment removed by lifts designed and planned by the O’Brien Management Team.
- Removal of oils and general wastes.
- Shredding of confidential waste.
- Demolition and removal of minor structures.
- Clearing the site and filling resultant voids to ensure a fully cleared site suitable for handover.
