Southampton Docks Demolition
This site was closed in the mid 1990s and lay dormant for a number of years we were contracted by the client to undertake the clearance of the site prior to it’s future redevelopment.
Works included but were not limited to;
- Pre appointment advice in respect of the removal of the dock gates the design of which required the development of specialist methodology by the O’Brien Management Team
- Dismantling/ demolition of four dockside cranes mounted on rails ; lift and removal of the crane rails.
- Removal of both non - notifiable and notifiable asbestos materials from buildings and structures on the site.
- Demolition of the assembly building a steel framed structure.
- Removal of the dock gate which was a single sliding dock gate specialist dive teams were employed to cut the retaining blocks below water and when released the gate was floated out for dismantling.
