Port of Sunderland
A redundant dockside tower crane was identified for removal by the client.
- The crane had stood dormant for a number of years and on pre dismantling inspection was found to be in worse structural condition than anticipated.
- A design proposal for the dismantling was developed by the O’Brien Team which addressed the safety risks arising from the structural condition of the crane.
- Three cranes were deployed to ensure that disconnections could be made both safely and effectively and the structure was successfully dismantled.
