Gascoigne Wood Mine, Selby
The demolition of this former mining complex in four phases over a period of three years involved the demolition and dismantling of a variety of heavy industrial structures.
The tasks completed included;
- Specialised crane lifts up 800 tonne during removal of conveyor systems
- Working over and adjacent to the existing rail line during dedicated possession periods
- Controlled collapse of coal storage bunkers
- Long reach demolition of structures
- Removal of HV transformers including disposal of PCB oils
- Processing of all demolition arisings for reuse or recycling
