Ex Children's Home, Beacon Lough (East) Estate , Gateshead, Tyne & Wear
Project involved:
- Submittance of ASB5 as building contained licensed Asbestos.
- Pre start meetings with local authority to discuss proposed demolition method and agenda.
- Meetings with near by residents and neighbouring businesses to notify them of demolition as well as addressing any issues or concerns .
- Exclusion zone erected and welfare facilities set up.
- Traffic management plan implemented due to site being in the middle of a housing estate.
- All asbestos containing materials removed according to Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006.
- Soft strip and demolition of two storey Children's home including each structure being physically separated from any adjoining structure using hand demolition techniques.
- Processing of materials on site for recycling at out own local centres.
- Liaison with building contractor to determine final landscaping of site as builders works running in connection with demolitions.
