Cato Street, Sunderland, Tyne & Wear
Project involved:
- Pre demolition meetings with client and neighbouring residents to raise awareness of demolition and discuss any concerns raised.
- Site set up and traffic management controls including restricted routes for vehicles over a prior demolition site to avoid congestion in narrow streets and minimise inconvenience to residents.
- Soft strip of existing residential two storey terraced housing.
- Removal of slate roofs by hand using a scaffold erected by our own competent operatives.
- Remote demolition using the latest noise suppression equipment and mobile dust suppression units to keep disruption at a minimum.
- Breaking up of floor slab and removal of normal foundations to a depth of 1000mm.
- Processing of materials on site for recycling at out own local centres.
- Levelling of site to avoid tripping hazards and cleaning of roads and footpaths around the vicinity of the site.
