Atmel Factory, Silverlink, North Tyneside
Demolition of the major manufacturing plant open for circa 15 years.
The project completed in Autumn 2009 was undertaken over a 19 month period.
Works included:
- Demolition of buildings across 32 acres site
- Demolition of mass reinforced concrete structures up to 9m in depth forming the anti vibration damper mat for the production building
- Processing on site of 26500m3 of concrete arisings to type 1 recycled aggregate
- Processing onsite of circa 6500 tonne of structural steelwork
- Termination of services
- Crane lift of 8 chimneys circa 35 m in height
- Full strip out of the process building back to shell to from a new date centre building.
